Toxic Prediction

 The work unfolds the image of an all-consuming polymorphous substance — toxic and pharmaceutical, mystical and criminal, intertwined with technogenic and virtual worlds. The central element is the office space, engulfed by a viscous substance symbolizing greed multiplied by inhuman acceleration. Created by a corporation, this substance enslaves the characters through addiction, creating the illusion of happiness and career advancement while suppressing freedom. The fluid identities of the characters reflect the fragmentation of the self in modern society. They manifest themselves in a variety of forms: anthropomorphic figures hidden beneath layers of costumes, sterilely sleek mannequins, robotic androids, gaming avatars wandering in synthetic offices. But they are all subservient to technology, their movement on all fours inside the corporate labyrinth blurs the line between diligent performance and outright humiliation, highlighting their powerlessness to systemic control and the entrenchment of new behavioral patterns. The green meditating yogis personify resistance, using the substance that enslaves the rest of us as a catalyst for awakening and awareness. This motif references Yuk Hui’s ideas about the need to rethink the relationship with technology and explore the possibilities of technocultural self-reflection. The final scene foreshadows the impasse and collapse of the corporation, emphasizing the inevitability of the consequences.
